Zuiderzee Museum

Take a brief trip back in time at the Zuiderzee Museum. In the outdoor museum, as many as 140 old cottages tell the story of days gone by—from the eel smokehouse, the old candy shop, and the butcher shop to the cheese warehouse. This section is open from spring through the fall break. You can try on period clothing, sit at school desks, or enjoy an eel from the fish smokehouse. There are also all kinds of traditional Dutch games to play. 
The indoor museum is located about 250 meters from the open-air museum, so be sure to keep your tickets safe! In the Schepenhal, you can view the collection of historic boats or explore the exhibition about the former Zuiderzee.
